Biografía

Mi investigación se centra en las migraciones internacionales y la migración forzosa, con especial atención al retorno y a la toma de decisiones. En los últimos años, también he trabajado en temas relacionados con la integración de migrantes y refugiados, en particular con niños migrantes y refugiados. 

Soy Doctora en Ciencias Políticas por la Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Licenciada en Sociología por la Universidad de Salamanca y Máster en Ciencias Sociales por el Instituto Juan March de Estudios Avanzados en Ciencias Sociales).  Mi tesis doctoral, que combina trabajo etnográfico de larga duración y análisis cuantitativo, se centró en el proceso de retorno de los desplazados internos en Bosnia-Herzegovina tras el conflicto de los años 90, y fue galardonada con el premio Juan Linz 2011 a la mejor tesis doctoral en Ciencias Políticas.

He tenido un papel de coordinación o liderazgo en varios proyectos de investigación nacionales e internacionales en estos campos (TEMPER, MAFE/MESE, IMMERSE, Breaking). He trabajado en diferentes puestos con organizaciones internacionales como ACNUR, ACNUDH, la Agencia de los Derechos Fundamentales de la UE (FRA) y la OIT. Y he sido Directora de la revista internacional Migraciones.
