José Javier

Fernández Del Barrio

PhD candidate at the Institute of Philosophy (IFS) of the CSIC and at the Autonomous University of Madrid. He graduated in Philosophy, Political Science and Economics at the Rey Juan Carlos University of Madrid (URJC). Subsequently, he completed a Master's degree in Philosophy of History: Democracy and World Order at the Autonomous University of Madrid (UAM). He completed a JAE Intro fellowship at IFS-CSIC under the supervision of Astrid Wagner.

He is currently working on a thesis on The culture war of right-wing populism, directed by Astrid Wagner (IFS-CSIC), María Ávila Bravo-Vilasante (URJC) and Eduardo Zazo Jiménez (UAM), in which he researches in an interdisciplinary way (political philosophy, sociology, gender studies) the relationship between the current male resentment and the middle classes with the rise of national populism, as well as the culture war that occurs particularly in social networks and cyberspace.
