Al-Qanṭara Al-Qanṭara has appeared since 1980, as a continuation of Al-Andalus (1933-1978). It is devoted to the civilization of classical Islam (up to the 17th century inclusive), with special attention to the Islamic west. It appears in two issues per annum, each of some 295 pages, containing articles of original research, short notes (varia), and reviews. The second issue of each year contains a monographic section devoted to a single topic. All research articles in Al-Qanṭara are refereed externally, and contributions are solicited only for the monographic sections and reviews. Access to the entire content of Al-Qanṭara is permitted via the electronic edition without restriction six months after publication. Anales Cervantinos It is published in an annual volume and contains studies, notes and texts of interest related to the author of El Ingenioso hidalgo. It provides any information about the subject appearing in books and in Spanish and foreign journals. Like in its early stages, it aims to collect any manifestation of thought about the figure of Cervantes, not only about the man and his work, but about his environment as well: society, landscape, time…With its studies, notes, book reviews, etc., Anales Cervantinos has been, since 1951, the oldest monograph publication of scholarly nature devoted to the author of Don Quixote. Archivo Español de Arqueología Founded by Antonio García y Bellido in 1940 as a specialized branch of Archivo Español de Arte y Arqueología (1925), publishes one number per year with articles original and unpublished on Archaeology and Ancient History of the Mediterranean and European world. Its chronological limits run from Orientalizing culture to the late Roman world, accepting also papers dealing with the bordering phases, preceding or following. Also archaeological news and reviews on all these subjects are admitted. Arqueología de la Arquitectura Archaeology of Architecture is a yearly published journal edited by the University of the Basque Country (UPV) and the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC), devoted to the archaeology of architecture and addressed to archaeologists, historians, art and architecture historians, restorers, architects and professionals related to archaeological record, analysis and involvement on building heritage. This journal has a double aim. On one hand, it wants to promote a forum for the discussion and exchange of ideas among the scholars interested in the archaeology of architecture. Asclepio Asclepio. Revista de Historia de la Medicina y de la Ciencia, was born in 1948 with the title Archivo Iberoamericano de Historia de la Medicina y Antropología Médica. Particularly devoted to Spanish, European, and Latin American science, Asclepio includes original papers on the history of science, echoing the various historiographic trends in our field of study. It is half-yearly directed to an audience specialized in the history of science, but also to variously educated scientists who may find in history elements for epistemological and social reflection in their scientific work. Estudios Geográficos Founded in 1940 by the Institute Juan Sebastián Elcano at the CSIC, the Estudios Geográficos journal published quarterly until 2004 articles on geographical research, news, commentaries, as well as reviews of current publications. Since 2005, is published half yearly. Estudios Geográficos is addressed to the academy and research and accepts theoretical and methodological treatises, analyses of the geographical areas of Spain, principally, as well as articles from related sciences such as cartography, geology, ecology, forestry, economics, demography, and sociology. Gladius Gladius is the most important Spanish scholarly journal devoted to the study of Ancient and Medieval Weapons, Military History, Warfare and Cultural Life in Europe, America and the East. It is an annually published scientific journal subsidized and supervised by the Hoffmeyer Institute for the Study of Ancient Weapons of the CSIC Institute of Archaeology of Mérida in the framework of a patronage made up by CSIC, Junta de Extremadura, Diputación de Cáceres, National Heritage, Caja de Extremadura and the Municipal Council of Jaraíz de la Vera. Gladius covers the following subjects: Arms, Military History and Polemology, from the earliest times until the end of the 18th century, mainly in the Iberian Peninsula, Europe, Islam and the Americas, although other contributions will be considered. It also contains a section on scientific discussion and reviews. Accepted languages are Spanish, English and French, but other languages of scientific relevance can be considered. Hispania Founded in 1940, Hispania. Revista Española de Historia is a four-monthly publication devoted to the study of societies in the medieval, modern and contemporary periods. It is open to original work that fits within one or more of these three broad chronological frameworks, and does not restrict its contents along specific thematic or geographic lines. Since 1995, the journal has incorporated a Monographic Section into some of its issues, which has been commissioned from renowned historians from within and beyond Spain by the Editorial Board . Revista de Dialectología y Tradiciones Populares Established in 1944,is at present the Spanish journal of longest standing devoted to social and cultural anthropology. Revista de Filología Española Founded in 1914 by Ramón Menéndez Pidal, the journal Revista de Filología Española (RFE) is published in biannual volumes which make up every year a volume of about 450 pages. Throughout its evolution, RFE, which is devoted to Spanish philology, has adapted to the changes experienced by Philology itself. It provides bibliographic information related to its contents appearing in the joumals received bythe Tomás Navarro Tomás Library (CSIC). Revista española de Documentación Científica Revista Española de Documentación Científica (REDC) is a journal edited by the Instituto de Estudios Documentales sobre Ciencia y Tecnología (IEDCYT, formerly CINDOC), belonging to the Consejo Superior de Investigaciones Científicas (CSIC). It is published quarterly since 1977. The main objective of this journal is to contribute to the dissemination of knowledge amongst researchers in the field of Library and Information Science and those involved in the use of scientífic, technical and strategic information for science policy and decision making. Trabajos de Prehistoria Trabajos de Prehistoriais the Spanish Journal of Prehistory that appears most regularly. Created by Professor Dr. Martín Almagro Basch in 1960, it was a monograph series until 1968 when it was changed into annual journal. In 1994 it became the only semestral periodical of its speciality published in the Iberian Peninsula. The first issue comes out in June and the second in December. The continuous appearance of the journal, its general scope, and the quality of its content have given it a preeminent position in Iberia and an important one on the international scene. TP is a specialized journal essential for every archaeologist interested in the Prehistory and Protohistory of the Iberian Peninsula. It stresses synthesis, interdisciplinary studies, papers on theory and method, and new trends in this developing discipline. TP incorporates, as well, the most recent concerns of prehistorians in Archaeological Heritage management.
